Douglas B. Schumer, Ph.D., has served as our Vice President, Research and Development since June 2007. Previously, since 2006, Dr. Schumer had been General Manager at TDC Medical. Prior positions were as VP Engineering at Animas, a J&J Company (2005 - 2006), Vice President of Thoratec East for Thoratec Corporation (2002 - 2004), Vice President R&D at Novoste Corporation (2001 - 2002), and Vice President R&D and Director of Technology Development and Acquisition at CPI/Guidant (1990 - 2000). Earlier positions were as Vice President R&D at Ohaus Corporation (1980 - 1989) and Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Telephone Laboratories (1977 - 1980). Dr. Schumer holds a B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Measurement and Control from Carnegie-Mellon University, and Ph.D. in Electrical and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. |
