Douglas A. Campbell, co-founder of Campbell & Levine, LLC, is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. Since 1984, Mr. Campbell has been recognized as a bankruptcy practitioner in The Best Lawyers In America, and enjoys the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell.
Mr. Campbell received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1976, after receiving a B.S. (English) from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1973. After founding the firm in 1981, he served as a panel trustee in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania while developing a practice that evolved into the largest general insolvency law practice in the Pittsburgh region. Clients have included Sharon Steel Corporation in its chapter 11 case; Mario Lemieux, as a creditor and plan proponent in the Pittsburgh Penguins bankruptcy; and the Creditors' Committee of H. K. Porter Company, Inc., in a seminal asbestos-related reorganization. Today the firm represents the largest asbestos-related settlement trusts in the country.
Mr. Campbell was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association legislative task force concerning the adoption of the Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act and recently served as Chair of the Merit Selection Committee for the bankruptcy judgeship in the Western District of Pennsylvania. He is a frequent lecturer at professional seminars.
A Pittsburgh native, Mr. Campbell and his wife, Shelley, have three children. He is a member of the Duquesne Club and Oakmont County Club. He is a member of the Board of Winchester Thurston School and is a co-founder and a Managing Director of the East End Athletic Association, which organizes, sponsors and manages youth athletic programs in various field sports in the City of Pittsburgh . |
