Doug Haensel joined Burt's Bees in May of 2005 to lead our financial activities. He also is responsible for our Information Services and Customer Care Departments. He was excited to join our team because of the company's great growth potential and the free honey. He soon found out that free honey was only a myth, but stayed anyway and says it is amazing to find "so many energetic and passionate people in one place."
As Burt's Bees grows, Doug believes we need to find ways to make it easier for our customers to do business with us. To that end, his team is busy developing new systems to optimize Burt's Bees product availability, as well as exploring new ways to do business transactions. Doug believes these initiatives will transform the way we operate and allow us to keep our leadership position within the industry.
Prior to coming on to Burt's Bees, Doug was President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of 21st Century Newspapers, a company that owns over 100 newspapers in the state of Michigan. He also served as Executive Vice President & Chief Executive Officer at The Athlete's Foot Group, Inc., as well as holding various management roles at GE Aircraft Engine Group and the General Electric Capital Corporation. Doug has over 20 years of progressive experience in financial management, strategic planning, business analysis, treasury management and leveraged transactions.
Recently, Doug got involved in our efforts with Habitat for Humanity and finds it very rewarding to bring the joy of home ownership to those who might otherwise never experience it. He's also making a difference through ECOBEES. |
