Career History
Ms. Cox, 42, is vice president, communications, for MeadWestvaco Corporation. In this role, she is responsible for all communications for the company, including public relations and internal communications.
Ms. Cox joined the company in 1996 as the communications coordinator for the Forestry Division, and in 1997 transferred to a similar role in the Public Affairs Department in the Kraft Division. She was promoted to public affairs manager for the Charleston, S.C-area operations in 1998, and in 2002 was promoted to the role of manager of integration and internal communications for MeadWestvaco. In 2003, she accepted the position of director of public relations and was responsible for external communications and media relations. In 2004, in addition to her external communications duties, Ms. Cox assumed the responsibility for employee communications for the company.
Prior to joining MeadWestvaco, Ms. Cox held various marketing and public relations positions, including director, marketing and public relations, for the Middleton Place Foundation and vice president, marketing, with First Savings Bank.
