Donald M. Gleklen is a strategic business advisor and private investor, and has extensive experience as a senior corporate executive, banker and lawyer.
Mr. Gleklen is the retired Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of InteliHealth, Inc., a leading internet company providing healthcare content to consumers that was a joint venture of Aetna US Healthcare and Johns Hopkins Health System.
In addition to having served continuously for over 18 years on the Board of Directors of HMO of PA, the largest subsidiary of US Healthcare, he has also served on the board of directors of several public and privately owned companies. He is on the Investment Committee of Murex Investments I, an SBA approved New Markets Venture Capital Fund and is active in the venture capital community, having invested in several early stage companies in various industries. Mr. Gleklen is the past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and also serves on the Board of Regents of the Washington, DC based Potomac Institute for Policy Studies. He formerly served on the Board of Directors of Kinetics Technology International, a diversified international energy company headquartered in the Netherlands. Mr. Gleklen is a Fellow of the Philadelphia College of Physicians, one of the few non physicians to be elected to that prestigious organization. He is a Trustee of Northwestern Human Services, the largest non-profit provider of mental health services in Pennsylvania.
Prior to creating his own investment and consulting business in 1994, Mr. Gleklen spent ten years at MEDIQ, Inc. a publicly owned health care services company, as head of corporate development and group executive responsible for oversight of nine of the company's 17 operating subsidiaries.
Previously, he spent 16 years at Industrial Valley Bank in Philadelphia, serving as Executive Vice President and Senior Lending Officer of that $2.5 billion dollar bank. Earlier in his career, he represented a London merchant bank in the United States, was House Counsel at a New York investment banking firm and practiced law in New York City.
Mr. Gleklen has a law degree from Columbia University and a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University. |
