Donald E. Fetterolf MD MBA FACP a healthcare industry veteran with more than a decade of health plan experience joined Matria in 2005 from Highmark Inc. in Pennsylvania where he has served as Senior Medical Director of various divisions including Senior Medical Officer for Alliance Ventures Inc. a Highmark subsidiary involved in managing multiple Primary Care Centers and a physician network of some 340 physicians. He was the creator and Medical Director of Highmark’s Medical Informatics dept. More recently he served for several years as Highmark’s Chief Medical Officer with operating responsibilities for several business functions and oversight responsibilities involving Indemnity PPO HMO Point of Service and Medicare businesses. In his last role at Highmark he was working in the Customer Analytics and Operations Division in informatics corporate health policy and programs.
Dr. Fetterolf received dual undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry and his MD degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the Health Center at the University of Pittsburgh. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians.
He completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 1991. Other formal medical training included a partial fellowship in Occupational Medicine and partial completion of a Masters in Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh in the early 1980's. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and at Temple University School of Medicine. He is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians the American College of Physician Executives the American College of Medical Quality and the Academy of Healthcare Management.
He is on the Board of Directors of the Disease Management Association of American (DMAA) and the Board of Directors of the American College of Medical Quality. He is on the editorial board of several journals including Disease Management and the American Journal of Medical Quality.
In the past he served as an internist in private practice for twelve years six as President of a medical group practice he created. |
