A second-generation venture capitalist, Mr. Donald A. Lucas possesses twenty years of venture capital experience in Silicon Valley. As RWI Ventures’ Founding Managing Member, he has overseen the firm’s investments in over thirty-five private companies. An active participant in Silicon Valley's investment community, Mr. Lucas consistently invests in companies that use technology to provide solutions for existing or emerging markets. He has worked closely with a broad range of technology companies, many of which have become industry standards. Currently, Mr. Lucas serves on the Board of DexCom, Inc. and Khimetrics, Inc. and is a Board Observer at Paracor Medical.
Prior to founding RWI Ventures in 2000, Mr. Donald A. Lucas spent a decade working with his father, Donald L. Lucas, at Sand Hill Financial Company. During Mr. Lucas’s time there, Sand Hill backed numerous technology leaders including Advanced Fibre Communications, Inc., Cadence Design Systems, Inc., Macromedia, Inc., Oracle Corporation and medtech investments including Aksys, Coulter Pharmaceutical and Intuitive Surgical.
Mr. Lucas is an avid fly-fisherman and his favorite lure is the Royal Wulff. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Santa Clara University. |
