Don Thoma is Executive Vice President, Corporate Development for Iridium. Mr. Thoma is responsible for leading new Iridium corporate initiatives such as Iridium NEXT, the intensive, multi-year design and development program of the next generation satellite constellation and services. He brings to Iridium a strong and versatile background in both management and business development. Prior to joining Iridium, he served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for DiamondBack Vision, Inc. Prior to working at DiamondBack Vision, he held various positions of responsibility for ORBCOMM, ranging from Senior Director of Transportation to Founder and General Manager of the Vantage Tracking Solutions business unit. Prior to ORBCOMM, he was the director of integration and launch operations for Orbital Sciences Corporation. He has represented Iridium as a speaker at multiple maritime and aviation industry conferences. He served as a Captain in the USAF Space Division. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Southern California, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. |
