Since 1981, Don Mackanos has played a key role in the growth of SunGard’s Relius suite of employee benefit products and services. Additionally, in 2003 he was charged with growing SunGard’s Omni employee benefit product suite.Now, as president of SunGard’s Omni and Relius product lines, Mr. Mackanos’ organizations serve more than two thirds of the U.S. market, with software that processes 43 million of the industries 60 million retirement plan accounts with assets approaching $3.5 trillion. His business is also expanding globally with retirement plan organizations currently being served in Australia, Hong Kong, Mexico and South Africa.Previous to this role Mr. Mackanos served as Relius’ president, vice president of sales and marketing, director of new product development, assistant general counsel, director of online services, and general manager of plan document services.Mr. Mackanos received a B.A. from Indiana University in 1977, a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 1980 and a LL.M. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1981.
