Dr. Boulanger is an Advisor for Chanin Capital Partners. His areas of expertise include insurance companies and other financial institutions. Prior to his association with Chanin, Dr. Boulanger served as a consultant to several major insurance companies. Earlier, he was CEO and Founder of National Deposit Financial Corporation and National Deposit Life Insurance Company in Los Angeles, California, whose business grew to approximately $2 billion in assets and which was sold to Protective Life Insurance Company (NYSE: PL) in 1992. Dr. Boulanger served as Chief Investment Officer for SunAmerica Corp. in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for portfolio structuring, supervising the managers of various asset classes, asset-liability management, and product pricing. At the conclusion of his tenure at SunAmerica in 1989, the company had $25 billion in assets. Additional corporate development roles include positions at TransAmerica Corp. and Kaufman Broad Corp. where Dr. Boulanger was responsible for strategic planning and merger, acquisition, and divestiture activities.Dr. Boulanger has served as Director for the following insurance companies: Sun Life Insurance Company of America, Coastal States Life Insurance, Universal Guarantee Life Insurance, Anchor National Life Insurance, Capitol Life Insurance, and National Deposit Life.Dr. Boulanger earned his Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) from Harvard College, his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University and has served as a member of the Harvard University Committee on University Resources and the Harvard Library Trustees Committee. After completing his degrees, Dr. Boulanger briefly served in the White House and at the Federal Reserve. |
