Don P. Foster is a seasoned trial lawyer with a proven track record in the courtroom. He is regularly asked to prosecute or defend to verdict cases involving significant financial risk to the defendant, or cases that present a substantial challenge to the business practices of the client. His trial experience is varied, but includes matters involving intellectual property, health care, franchising and corporate governance. As a result of recent engagements, he has become particularly knowledgeable in matters pertaining to electronic discovery.
Mr. Foster is a member of the board of directors of Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, one of the nation's largest health insurers, and is chairman of its Audit Committee. He also serves on its Executive Committee.
Mr. Foster is active in many professional and community organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Foundation. He is the former chairman of the Philadelphia Bar Association's Professional Responsibility Committee and the Federal Courts Committee. He frequently is asked to instruct practicing lawyers on trial practices and procedures and professional responsibility, and regularly lectures to industry groups on issues related to title insurance and nursing home liability. Before entering private practice, he worked for two years as a law clerk to the Hon. James S. Bowman, President Judge of the Commonwealth Court and then for two years as a legal consultant to the International Energy Agency in Paris, France.
Mr. Foster was named by other lawyers as one of Pennsylvania's top litigation lawyers from 2004-2007 in a survey conducted by the polling organization Law and Politics.
