Mr. McCarthy has 21 years of experience in industrial research, product implementation, and strategic analysis with a particular focus on integrated circuits, processors, and embedded systems. Mr. McCarthy joined VantagePoint from VantagePoint portfolio company SandCraft, where he was Vice President, Architecture. Earlier in his career, Mr. McCarthy spent 15 years with Hewlett-Packard first in the R&D department of the Computer Peripherals Division, then as a lead researcher in HP Laboratories where he was an integral contributor to a new research program focused on computer architecture for embedded systems and appliances. As a respected technological innovator, he has been granted 18 patents in the area of embedded system computer architecture. Mr. McCarthy is a graduate of the University of Bristol (MS in Information Engineering) and was later elected Visiting Fellow to the Faculty of Engineering. He is also a graduate of the University of Birmingham, UK (BS in Electronics & Computer Engineering). |
