Dominic M. Brault is a Manager in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. His asset and business valuation experience encompasses a broad range of industries. Mr. Brault has valued equity, debt, and derivative securities (stock options and warrants), as well as intangible assets, private equity carried interests, and stock-based compensation, for a variety of purposes including: fairness and solvency opinions; purchase and sale advisement; financial and tax reporting (e.g., SFAS 141 and 142); Employee Stock Ownership Plans; shareholder disputes; and other corporate, tax and litigation related matters. Mr. Brault has served numerous industries including catalog retail, health care, biotechnology, industrial machinery, specialty chemicals, transportation, construction and engineering, business services, oil and gas exploration, packaged foods and meats, and metals, among others. Mr. Brault has also provided valuation services for several international clients. Mr. Brault has extensive experience valuing intangible assets including trademarks, trade names, patented technology and know-how, software, customer-related assets, and non-competition agreements. He also co-authored an article entitled Purchase Accounting: Corporate Development s Bane? in the Fall 2007 edition of the SRR Journal. Mr. Brault earned a BS in Banking and Finance from Case Western Reserve University. Prior to joining Stout Risius Ross, Inc., Mr. Brault worked as an Equity Research Analyst at Longbow Research in Cleveland. At Longbow Research, he covered a universe of primarily mid-cap NYSE-listed stocks in the restaurants, construction materials, specialty chemicals, and metals industries. Mr. Brault began his career as a Junior Equity Research Analyst for FTN Midwest Research Securities Corporation, an independent institutional equity research firm. |
