Dominic Pileggi is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Thomas & Betts Corporation, a position he has held since January 1, 2006. Prior to this appointment, from January 2004 he was president and chief executive officer of Thomas & Betts Corporation. He is also a member of The Lubrizol Corporation's board of directors.
Mr. Pileggi brings considerable industry knowledge and experience to his position. Immediately prior to being named chief executive officer, Mr. Pileggi served as the company’s president and chief operating officer with responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the company’s electrical, HVAC and steel structures businesses.
From October 2002 until January 2003, Mr. Pileggi served as president of the company’s electrical products business in the United States, Europe, Asia and Mexico. In this role, he was instrumental in implementing the company’s turnaround and restoring its reputation as a leader in the industry.
Mr. Pileggi began his career at Thomas & Betts in 1979 as a sales representative in the electronics division. His career progressed steadily through a variety of management positions. In 1988, he was named president of the company’s electronics business, where he earned a reputation for strengthening the company’s leadership across all markets and successfully growing organic sales and earnings. In 1994, Mr. Pileggi was promoted to president of the electrical products group, the company’s largest business. In this role, he successfully integrated several strategic acquisitions, helping Thomas & Betts build one of the industry’s broadest portfolios of electrical products for commercial and industrial applications.
Mr. Pileggi left Thomas & Betts in 1995. From 1995 to 2000, he held senior executive positions at Casco Plastic, Inc., Jordan Telecommunications and Viasystems Group. At Viasystems, Mr. Pileggi led the company’s global operations that provided manufacturing services for original equipment manufacturers serving the networking, tele-communications, automotive and consumer electronics industries. He is a graduate of Rutgers University. |
