Diron Reynolds was named to the Dolphins’ coaching staff on February 8, 2007 following a five-year stint as the defensive quality control coach with the Indianapolis Colts (2002-06).
Prior to his tenure with the Colts, Reynolds spent one year (2001) tutoring the defensive tackles at Indiana University, where he worked under Dolphins Head Coach Cam Cameron, the head coach for the Hoosiers at the time.
Reynolds played linebacker at Wake Forest from 1990-93, and earned his degree in communications. He was a member of the team that claimed the 1992 Independence Bowl. Upon graduation, he spent two years coaching football, basketball and track at Brooklyn-Cayce High School in Columbia, S.C. Following that, he served as a graduate assistant at Wake Forest from 1997-98, where he earned his master’s degree in liberal arts. He was promoted to outside linebackers coach for the Demon Deacons in 1999, and held that post for two years.
Reynolds is the older brother of former Florida State defensive end Jamal Reynolds, a first-round draft choice of the Green Bay Packers in 2001. Another brother, Rashad, played linebacker at Rice, while his father, William, was a defensive end at South Carolina State. Diron and his family reside in Fort Lauderdale. |
