Dimitris Fotakis is the Founder of Athena Design Systems and chief technologist. Prior to Athena, Dimitris was a co-founder of AmmoCore. He departed AmmoCore in 2003 to found Athena Design. Dimitris also served as Architect at Cadence Design Systems from 1997 to 1999 managing the R&D product development for Extraction in the P&R flow. Before Cadence, Dimitris invented and developed HyperExtract from 1994-1997 at High Level Design Systems which became Cadence's workhorse extraction technology. Between 1991 and 1994, Dimitris developed and supported an internal signoff delay calculation tool in National Semiconductor in the corporate CAD division and defined physical analysis design flows for the design groups. Dimitris received his M.S. degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from George Mason University in 1986. He was accepted and did graduate work in CAD in the PhD program of the Electrical Engineering Department at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dimitris holds two patents. |
