Dimitrios Daskalopoulos, born 1957, is currently chairman of Vivartia S.A., the new company that emerged from the absorption by DELTA Holding S.A. of Delta Dairy S.A., Chipita S.A., Goody’s S.A. and General Frozen Foods, the largest food production group in Greece and one of the leading players in the food sector in Europe. Besides his position on the board of NBG, he is currently chairman of the Federation of Greek Industry (since 16 May 2006). He has also served as chairman of the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries for seven continuous years (1999-2006), having been director since 1988, and as director of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1996 to 2000. He is a member of the European Round Table of Industrialists and of the International Directors’ Councils of the Guggenheim Museum and the Tate Gallery. Mr Daskalopoulos studied business administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and holds an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management. |
