Dimitri Mastrocola serves as a Managing Director in the New York office of Major, Lindsey & Africa and brings over 15 years of top tier law firm and in-house legal experience to the recruiting field.
Dimitri joined MLA after holding positions as a corporate/M&A associate with Fasken Martineau in Montreal, a senior associate with Shearman & Sterling’s project development and finance team in New York and an Associate General Counsel with Citigroup’s corporate and investment bank. His search practice focuses on placing General Counsels, senior in-house counsel and compliance officers with national and international corporations, financial institutions, investment banks and alternative asset management firms. He also works on senior associate and partner searches for law firms.
Dimitri has placed the General Counsel at Alden Global Capital and Eurand (a Warburg Pincus portfolio company); the Chief Compliance Officer at Evercore Partners, Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust Co., FSB and Sandelman Partners; and Associate General Counsels at Fortress Investment Group, Merrill Lynch, Barclays Capital, Bear Stearns, USI Holdings and Parsons Brinckerhoff. Dimitri also helped build out the Dubai office of a top 15 global law firm placing its global head of Islamic Finance. In addition he has placed senior associates and counsel with premier New York law firms.
Dimitri is adept at learning and understanding the professional requirements, needs, objectives, and philosophies of both his clients and attorney candidates. In so doing, he draws upon his unique combination of law firm and investment bank legal experience and strategic personal coaching skills. His singular aim is to help both parties achieve long-term and mutually beneficial professional relationships.
Dimitri received his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University in 1989. His interests include travel, personal development and investing. |
