Dietmar W. Siemann Ph.D. is a leading radiotherapy anti-angiogenesis and vascular targeting researcher. He is the John P. Cofrin Professor for Research in Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. In addition he is a professor in the school's Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Dr. Siemann has authored more than 150 scientific papers and is the recipient of numerous scientific awards including the Research Award of the Radiation Research Society in Oak Brook Illinois (1990). He is the former Chairman of the National Cancer Institute's Radiation Study Section (1996-1998). At the University of Florida College of Medicine Dr. Siemann's research focuses on the effects of the tumor microenvironment on patient outcome. Dr. Siemann received his BS in Physics from the University of Manitoba and his Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Toronto. He completed post-doctoral work in radiobiology at the University of Rochester (NY). |
