Since spring 2005, Dieter Daum, Executive Chairman of Sony DADC Global, has taken global responsibility for all of Sony’s disc business with appointment as President of Sony Disc and Digital Solutions, a Tokyo based Subsidiary of Sony Corp. Mr. Daum joined Sony DADC Austria in 1986 as Vice President, Manufacturing & Engineering. He was named Executive Vice President in 1993. From 1995 to 1999 he held the title of Senior Vice President, Sony Mus i c International Operations Group. In 1997, he became responsible for the manufacturing operation’s Marketing and Sales divisions. From 1997 to 1999 he served as Executive Vice President, Sales & Manufacturing, for DADC Austria. In 1999, he was named to two roles: President & CEO, Son y D A D C Austria AG and Chairman, Sony Music International Operations Group. In this dual capacity he oversaw the activities of Sony DADC Austria AG, and had strategic oversight for Sony Music Entertainment’s Asian and Australian manufacturing operations including facilities located in Sydney, Hong Kong and Mumbai, as well as its European manufacturing operations, including the Haarlem, Holland facility. In January 2003, Dieter was named head of Sony Music Entertainment’s manufacturing operations around the world, including the company’s facilities and offices in Asia, Europe and Australia, as well as North and South America. Before his employment with Sony DADC, Mr. Daum worked for Austria Microsystems International, leaving the company as its Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Daum earned a Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering at the Technical University Graz, Austria, in 1977 and completed Management Courses at IMD, Lausanne, Switzerland.
