Dickens was born and reared in Jackson and graduated from St. Joseph High School. At Mississippi State University he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Finance, and a Bachelor of Professional Accountancy degree. He was a National Dean’s List Scholar and named to Outstanding College Students of America. At Mississippi State, Dickens was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Social Fraternity and Pi Sigma Epsilon national Marketing Fraternity and a member of the MSU Soccer Club. With more than eleven years of public accounting experience with manufacturing entities, non-profit organizations and small businesses, Dickens is a valued member of GranthamPoole’s audit, retail/wholesale, and construction/real estate/oil and gas teams and holds shareholder status in the firm. Dickens is currently serving on the Mississippi Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Board of Directors, and is Finance Chairman. He formerly served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Finance Committee of St. Joseph High School. Noted for his community involvement, Dickens was a member of the 2003/2004 Leadership Jackson class. He has served on various committees of the Mississippi Society of CPAs, including a term as Vice President of Membership and Secretary, and at the national society level. For relaxation, Dickens enjoys running, playing basketball and soccer, gardening, and music. In 1996, he played quarterback for the Mississippi Pride National Minor League Football Team and received the Pride’s Team Dedication Award. Dickens is an active member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church. |
