Dick Crowther joined Burt's Bees in 2006 and leads the group charged with taking our great products around the world and introducing them to millions of new consumers. He also plays an important part in selecting our business partners for these efforts - like-minded companies, who are also interested in furthering green initiatives and The Greater Good.
Prior to coming on board, Dick was Diageo's Managing Director for Japan. He was excited to join our team because he saw huge potential for our company, both in the U.S. and internationally and that our portfolio of products was second to none. Additionally, he says, "The company seemed to understand where it wanted to go both commercially and ethically." Now he knows it's also fun, saying he enjoys the fact that "every day is different and we are able to get things done with a minimum of bureaucracy, which can be difficult in larger corporations."
Currently, Dick spends his time at the office developing the groundwork for our expansion in Europe and Asia. Off the clock, he runs a charity that builds schools in remote areas of Nepal. So far, he has helped to build over 40 schools, all created from sustainable materials with a minimum impact on the environment. |
