M. Diane Koken is a director of Nationwide a $160 billion diversified financial services organization based in Columbus Ohio. She was elected to the boards of Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company and Nationwide Mutual Fire Insurance Company in April 2007. Koken served as the Pennsylvania Commissioner of Insurance from 1997 to 2007. Originally appointed by Gov. Tom Ridge she was reappointed by Gov. Ed Rendell. She also served as the president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) from 2004 to 2005. Koken previously served as Vice President General Counsel and Secretary of Provident Mutual Insurance Company. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Millersville University and a law degree from the Villanova School of Law. She and her husband live in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
