Diane practices in the area of intellectual property law, with a combined focus on intellectual property transactions, and the preparation, prosecution and maintenance of patent and trademark cases. Though her technical background is in biotechnology, Diane’s patent practice also includes nanotechnology, chemical, medical device, and consumer product portfolios. Diane oversees several large patent and trademark portfolios, working extensively with associates at law firms around the world on all aspects of intellectual property management. Serving both for-profit and not-for-profit entities, she provides due diligence and freedom to operate analyses, counsels clients on a wide range of research and intellectual property related transactions, and assists in litigation and dispute resolution concerning intellectual property. In addition to serving as a member of numerous bar and intellectual property law associations, Diane is also a member of the Association of University Technology Managers and has served as an adjunct professor in biotechnology law and policy at Case’s School of Law. Prior to joining Calfee, she served in the offices of the general counsel and technology transfer at the Cleveland Clinic and in the technology management office of Case’s medical school. Diane joined Calfee in 2000 and became a partner in 2006. |
