Professional Profile
Ms. Stanfield is of counsel to the firmīs Creditorīs Rights Bankruptcy Practice Group, specializing in commercial litigation. Ms. Stanfield has been a commercial litigator for twenty-five years with a focus on real estate litigation, chairing the Litigation subsection of the LACBA Real Property Section, and speaking and writing on the topic with some regularity. Ms. Stanfield co-authored a cover article for the annual real estate issue of Los Angeles Lawyer discussing issues for commercial landlords in a down market, and served on the committee which authored sweeping amendments to the California lis pendens statute in 1993.
Ms. Stanfieldīs practice has included all manner of commercial, real estate and insolvency matters. Ms. Stanfield handled extensive litigation for an assignee for the benefit of creditors of a number of "dot.com" companies, in trying to recover large (six and seven figure) security deposits from their former landlords, ultimately prevailing in a previously untested theory of statutory interpretation. See: Sherwood Partners, LLC as ABC for PhotoPoint Corp. vs. 250 LLC, which was cited by the State Bar`s "California Real Property Journal" as one of the Top Ten Real Property Cases of 2005.
Ms. Stanfieldīs recent experience in the Bankruptcy Court includes the successful objection to a contract claim by the buyer of assets in the a Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the resolution of an adversary proceeding brought to invalidate the sale order, both of which threatened to unwind a $5 million sale; various preference actions; a fraudulent conveyance action against the assignee of a $1.7 million equipment lease; motions to confirm Disclosure Statements and Plans of Reorganization, including the Plan that was confirmed in 2007 for a Chapter 9 Debtorr, along with potential post-confirmation litigation regarding the status of multi-million dollar Medi-Cal payments. Her practice also includes a myriad of administrative matters, emergency motions, routine court appearances and everything else that reorganization entails.

Ms. Stanfield has received an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, and has been awarded the California State Bar Associationīs Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services.
