Diana Paraguacuto-Mahéo is an associate in the New York office of the international law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and a member of the Litigation and International Arbitration Group. Ms. Paraguacuto-Mahéo focuses her practice on international arbitration.
Ms. Paraguacuto-Mahéo's recent international arbitration engagements include the representation of a consortium of owners of a crude oil up-grader in Venezuela in two ICC arbitration proceedings arising out of the failure of the contractor to meet the Mechanical Completion Date for alleged occurrences of force majeure events. She represented the same consortium of owners in a third ICC arbitration case arising out of changes to a project labor agreement. Finally, she is involved in the representation of a major European developer and operator of international airports in an ICSID arbitration against the Republic of the Philippines.
Before joining the Arbitration and Litigation practice, Ms. Paraguacuto-Mahéo was an associate in the Global Project Finance group where she advised international clients, including investors, lenders, underwriters and vendors in all aspects of the development and financing of large and complex projects including in the telecommunication and energy sector.
Ms. Paraguacuto-Mahéo earned an LL.M from Columbia University Law School. She earned her J.D. summa cum laude from both the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain and University Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris France. She also received a Master degree from the University of Panthéon-Assas, Paris France where she graduated magna cum laude.
