A hands-on business leader since the early 1970s, Des has spent the last fifteen years establishing and growing multiple companies in the U.S. and abroad. Des specializes in making small and medium-size businesses profitable. He has worked with a broad range of new technologies, including wireless, numerous types of application software, middleware, computer-telephony, speech technologies, voice processing, computer hardware and peripherals, SCADA process automation, medical products, and emerging technologies such as electronic ink. In 2001, after founding and successfully selling an internet startup in the U.S., Des relocated to Ireland to become part of the Celtic Tiger economic boom, helping small Irish and UK companies penetrate international markets. In January, Des and his family returned to the United States. Des joined Cecropia in April 2006. |
