Derrick Carson has nearly 10 years of experience representing clients in a wide range of international and domestic commercial disputes. His experience includes cases involving contracts, trade secrets, real property, partnerships, business and fiduciary relationships, securities, consumer financial services, and deceptive trade practices. Mr. Carson has represented clients in the energy, insurance, financial services, manufacturing, and health care industries. He has tried cases as lead counsel to juries, judges and a variety of arbitration panels. Mr. Carson has acted as lead counsel on appeals and has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. In addition to his general commercial litigation practice, Mr. Carson has a national and international construction law practice. He has represented owners, developers, contractors and subcontractors in connection with a variety of industrial, commercial and residential projects. He has experience litigating the entire spectrum of construction disputes, including claims related to construction and design defects, delay, extra work, unanticipated conditions, termination and lien, bond and other payment issues.
