Derrick A. Scenna

Mr. Scenna devotes his practice to trust and estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation. He counsels clients on planning for issues of wealth transfer, estate and gift taxation, and business succession strategies. Mr. Scenna prepares wills, trust agreements and other documents affecting asset transfer and valuation.
In the area of estate and trust administration, Mr. Scenna represents clients in the probate process, prepares federal and state estate tax filings, and liquidation and transfer of assets. He serves in a fiduciary role as the trustee and executor for clients seeking an effective and efficient alternative to the appointment of family members or institutions. Mr. Scenna is experienced in estate and chancery litigation, and has appeared before the appellate courts and successfully litigated an issue of first review involving New Jersey's spousal elective share. Related areas of practice include guardianships, conservatorships and retirement asset planning.
