Biography As the winner of the MICG Investment Management scholarship offered through Christopher Newport University’s Luter School of Business, Derek has just recently joined the MICG team. He assists Wendy Crandol and Christy Hinson in the marketing division, and he is the webmaster for the MICG website.Derek played soccer for Christopher Newport University for 4 years and was co-captain for the last 2 years. He is in his 5th year at CNU working towards his double major in Finance and Spanish. He will graduate in the spring of 2008.Derek is a volunteer soccer coach, and he is involved with the Newport News Inner City Soccer League. He speaks Spanish fluently and he has used his Spanish participating in mission trips to Honduras and Costa Rica.He currently resides in Newport News, Virginia with his parents, Steve and Alice Shaw. |
