Dr. Byron is vice president, Crop Product Development. The area of Crop Product Development focuses on germplasm improvement, hybrid/variety creation, evaluation, characterization, advancement and knowledge transfer and transgenic trait and native trait integration in crops other than maize. Crop Product Development also includes Nursery Research and Seed Production (NRSP) which is involved with breeding and research seed production at five off-season nurseries.
Dennis joined Pioneer in 1993 as a soybean research director. Between 1993 and 2001, he led the soybean research effort and served on the Soybean Product Planning Team. He became director of Oilseeds and Field Crops (OFC) for Crop Genetics Research and Development in 2001. Dennis was named a Pioneer vice president in 2002.
He earned his Master of Science and doctorate degrees in plant breeding from the University of Minnesota. Dennis supports his community by volunteering his time and expertise to the American Seed Trade Association , Qualisoy Board, and United Way. |
