Deni Caplan is a principal and chairs the firm's Corporate, Securities & Tax Group. She concentrates on providing counseling to public and private businesses and business owners. Ms. Caplan has a broad-based corporate practice, advising clients on a full spectrum of business objectives, including analyzing, structuring and documenting mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and restructurings, and corporate start-ups; and structuring of corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and other business entities; employment contracting; and capital raising and documentation. In addition, Ms. Caplan works with banks and venture capitalists to structure and negotiate their equity investments in companies they are financing and provides general corporate counseling to middle market and large companies on a broad range of issues. Ms. Caplan is one of the founders of www.gkENGAGE.org, a not-for-profit organization established by the women of Goldberg Kohn. Ms. Caplan is a member of the board of directors of the Rory David Deutsch Foundation, a charitable foundation for pediatric brainstem tumor research. She is also an elected member of the Chicago Finance Exchange, which comprises women senior financial executives. She has been a speaker at the Women's Business Development Center's annual Entrepreneurial Women's Conference. |
