Deborah H. Alderson is president of SAIC's Defense Solutions Group, headquartered in McLean, Virginia. Composed of a team of more than 10,000 professionals, the group's work is focused on command, control and communications, and enterprise systems in support of various federal agencies.
Prior to joining SAIC in 2005, Alderson was the president of the Systems Engineering Group at Anteon Corporation. Under her leadership, the group supported the U.S. Navy, Missile Defense Agency, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Homeland Security. She was assigned as the corporate executive for all Anteon support to the Department of Homeland Security.
Alderson entered the professional services industry in 1983 as a systems analyst at Advanced Technology, Inc., in support of Navy maintenance programs. In 1985, she joined Techmatics, Inc. as a program manager and progressively grew her profit and loss responsibility to ultimately become the first line vice president responsible for more than 90% of the company's operation. She also served on the Techmatics Board of Directors.
In 1998, upon the acquisition of Techmatics by the Anteon Corporation, Alderson was named an Anteon senior vice president. She led the Techmatics group to double digit growth each year, and participated in the leadership of Anteon Corporation's initial public offering in 2001.
Alderson entered the defense industry after earning her bachelor's and master of science degrees from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1978 and 1981, respectively. She currently serves on various industry panels and boards and has been recognized by several organizations and industry associations for her business accomplishments. |
