Deanna Mouser is a partner in the Pleasanton office of Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud & Romo. She represents employers in all aspects of labor relations and employment law, including workplace violence prevention, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, leaves of absence and wage and hour issues. Ms. Mouser has successfully represented employers in court litigation, arbitration proceedings, administrative proceedings, and unfair labor practice proceedings. Ms. Mouser is also recognized as an authority on student discipline, expulsion appeals, and student rights including Constitutional issues. Ms. Mouser has been selected to present workshops on student discipline and expulsion appeals at state-wide education law conferences including conferences hosted by ACSA, CCSESA, and CASCWA. Ms. Mouser has also been an instructor of Law & Human Resource Management in the Human Resources Management certificate program at University of California Santa Cruz Extension in Silicon Valley since 1990 with other attorneys, and since 1997 on her own. She has taught other classes in this program since 1996, including Terminating Problem Employees, Combating Workplace Violence, Workplace Investigations, Government Investigations, Hearings, and Audits: How to Prepare, and Drafting Practical Employee Handbooks. She has also trained the managers of private and public employers on related topics. Ms. Mouser is recognized as an authority on violence prevention and has made numerous presentations throughout California on employment law issues, including workplace violence. She has written or contributed to numerous publications on preventing workplace and school violence and other employment law topics such as arbitration, defamation, leaves of absence, disciplining employees, and workplace investigations. Ms. Mouser is a frequent speaker for NCHRA and other employer groups. |
