Dean Williams is the SVP of Global Human Capital for Keane, a $1 billion-plus global services firm that specializes in enabling transformation of its clients’ business and IT functions. In this critical role, Dean is responsible for the Human Capital strategy that will drive recruiting, employee capabilities, leadership, and employee programs that motivate, retain, and reward Keane’s thousands of employees worldwide. His goal: to establish a high-performing, global workforce that is inspired, innovative, and highly productive in its delivery of transformative solutions to Keane’s clients.
Dean joined Keane from Investors Bank & Trust (IBT) where he served most recently as the head of Global Human Resources. In this six-year tenure at IBT, Dean played a key role in building the talent management and acquisition programs required to deliver on the firm’s strategy of superior service orientation. He also implemented workforce planning to institutionalize a system of creating leaders from within, which led to better alignment between the company and its employees. The results of Dean’s efforts contributed to the success of IBT: superior company performance leading to greater market capitalization; significant employee growth (2,000 people were hired in 2006 alone), and; a successful acquisition by State Street in 2007.
Prior to IBT, Dean spent eight years with Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) where he held a variety of HR positions, each with increasing management responsibility and organizational visibility. In his time with BBH, Dean spearheaded a number of new strategic initiatives, including performance driven compensation programs; management training programs for enhancing leadership effectiveness; optimized recruitment processes and new trainee programs aimed at tripling manpower over five years, and; the implementation of critical IT systems for HR.
Following a brief role in consulting, Dean formally started his HR career in 1990 when, upon completion of his master’s degree, he joined Bank of Boston. In his three years with the bank, Dean focused on compensation and benefit programs.
Dean attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, graduating in 1986 with a BA in psychology. He has a master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from San Diego State University, California. |
