Mr. Lewis is formally trained in corporate finance and economics. From 1991 to 1997 he worked for the World Bank Group - International Finance Corporation (IFC) specializing in corporate finance transactions. He left IFC to co-found Iomai Corporation, a successful biotech company in Gaithersburg, Maryland serving as Director, President and CEO. He has successfully started up and guided growth for life science companies with cutting edge biotechnology primarily in vaccine development, topical delivery of immuno-stimulants and other biologicals, cancer diagnostics, cancer therapeutics, prevention and therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. In 2005 he helped found Index Therapeutics, a Delaware registered C Corporation, with the objective to in-license technology from a leading US-based pharmaceutical company to treat late-stage prostate cancer. Mr. Lewis is a graduate of the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand; Leeds University, Leeds, England; and the Executive Management Program, Stanford University, Palo Alto, California. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors. |
