In 1982, Mr. Chaffe founded the firm that bears his name. He heads the corporate finance activities of the company with his special expertise in the structuring and pricing of financings, mergers and acquisitions, valuations of corporate entities and corporate finance strategy and methods. A qualified expert in valuations and finance matters before local, state and federal courts, Mr. Chaffe serves primarily as a consultant in these matters. He also speaks at professional education programs and seminars. A member of the CFA Society, Mr. Chaffe has served on the board of directors for several local businesses and institutions, including the World Trade Center, New Orleans, and the Board of Advisors, School of Engineering, Tulane University. In addition, he has been an adjunct professor for Cases in Entrepreneurship at the A.B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University. Mr. Chaffe graduated from Tulane University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, with honors. He was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy upon graduation. Following his military service, he entered the securities business in 1959. In 1964, he was a founder and president of Viguerie, Hayne & Chaffe, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange member firm. When that firm was acquired by Howard, Weil, Labouisse, Friedrichs, Inc., Mr. Chaffe was named executive vice president and Director with responsibility for the activities of the investment banking department, a position he held from 1970 to 1981. |
