David Tornes Managing Partner David Tornes recently joined Mohr Partners as Managing Partner, based in Mohr’s Chicago, Il office. Prior to joining Mohr Partners he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Solutions for Jones Lang LaSalle, based in Chicago, where he led the global transaction services team for Whirlpool Corporation, a strategic alliance partner. His responsibilities included contributing to strategy development for the client’s real estate portfolio, implementing it through managing hundreds of transactions globally, and ongoing reporting to Whirlpool senior management. In addition, Mr. Tornes performed tenant representation, site search, valuation, leasing and disposition, services for land, industrial, and office product for clients including 3M, Mattel, R.R. Donnelley, Dell, MeadWestvaco, Kenco, Waste Management and CalPERS. Mr. Tornes began his career at Jones Lang LaSalle in 1993. Before transitioning to the Corporate Solutions, he served as Director of Leasing at The Chancellory, a 1.3 million s.f. class A office property located in Itasca, Illinois. At The Chancellory, he completed approximately 40 lease transactions per year through 1998. During this time he also coordinated due diligence on $400 million in acquisitions. Mr. Tornes began his real estate career in Tokyo, Japan. He joined the firm Tokyo Planners, Inc. in 1989 as an associate planner, specializing in municipal and resort master planning. In 1992, he continued his real estate career as associate planner at the firm of Allen Kracower & Associates, Inc. in Buffalo Grove, IL. He developed municipal and regional master plans, including master site planning for the DuPage, Illinois County Airport and Sears’ Prairie Stone corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Mr. Tornes received a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and City and Regional Planning from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 and a bachelor of fine arts degree from Alfred University in 1987. |
