David Thomson has been Chairman of The Thomson Corporation since May 2002. Mr. Thomson joined the Board of Directors in 1988.
Mr. Thomson also serves as a Chairman of The Woodbridge Company Limited, the Thomson family holding company and the principal and controlling shareholder of The Thomson Corporation.
Mr. Thomson began his career in 1979 working in the corporate finance department of a major Canadian investment firm. In 1980, Mr. Thomson joined the Hudson's Bay Company where he later became president of its subsidiaries Zellers and Simpsons, until 1990 when he joined The Woodbridge Company Limited. He joined the Thomson board of directors in 1988 and was named chairman of the board in May 2002.
Mr. Thomson is a graduate of Upper Canada College in Toronto and received an M.A. in History from Selwyn College, Cambridge, in 1978. |
