Mr. David Sundell is a project engineer at RJLG's New York office, with more than 15 years of experience. While at RJLG, he was a field sampling technician and field supervisor during an environmental impact assessment study of a large commercial office building in lower Manhattan that was damaged as a result of the World Trade Center disaster. He has also been an integral part of teams that have conducted environmental impact assessments of several other buildings in lower Manhattan. Mr. Sundell has experience in industrial hygiene and environmental sampling of air, dust, soils and water, and has also gained experience with managing diverse technical / field staff teams for large scale and high profile environmental projects.
Prior to assignment in New York, Mr. Sundell was a project engineer at RJLG's headquarters laboratory, where he worked in the materials and particle characterization group. In this capacity, he conducted analyses of various materials including concrete, metals, airborne particulate and asbestos using scanning electron microscopy techniques. He also performed sample preparation and analyses of materials in the chemistry department using inductively coupled plasma techniques. Previously, Mr. Sundell was a research engineer and raw material engineer with Harbison-Walker Refractories Company, a manufacturer of high temperature ceramic materials. There, he was the inventor/co-inventor on two U.S. Patents. |
