David Strohm is a General Partner with Greylock Partners, one of the largest early-stage venture capital firms in the U.S. He has been with Greylock since 1980, and founded the company’s California office in 1983. He led Greylock's historic involvement with companies like Mentor Graphics, ccMail, Forte Software, Kiva Software, and Octane Software. Mr. Strohm is currently a board member of several private companies in which Greylock is a lead investor and a director of Internet Security Systems. Mr. Strohm was a director of Legato Systems from its founding in 1988 until its acquisition by EMC in 2003. He became an EMC Director in October 2003 and has been selected by the Board’s independent directors to serve as lead director, effective January 1, 2006. He received a BA from Dartmouth in 1970 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1980.
