David’s career started in federal law enforcement and he continued as a corporate executive in the financial manufacturing and service industries. Upon retiring David and his wife Kim purchased the Chadi Farm Family Homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. His relationship with the Amish was rekindled after a devastating flood nearly destroyed the farm. Some Amish friends who were visiting at the time promised to return and rebuild their homestead. They made good on that promise and refused to accept any remuneration. As a result the Skinners opened an Amish store on the farm stocked with Amish goods including pastas sauces jams and local handcrafts. The products flew off the shelves and thus began David’s quest to introduce the country to the natural goodness of Amish-made foods. He quickly set to work on developing ways to produce these products in larger quantities under the brand name Amish Naturals. |
