David Simon leads the Citi Cards Customer Engagement organization, which partners with other Citi Cards and Citi entities to deepen client relationships and maximize profitability through cross-sell, channel management, analytics, and retention. He is a member of Citi’s Management Committee.
Prior to his current position, David structured and was the Head of the Office of the Chairman for Citi Cards, a diverse team responsible for the division's overall strategic direction, communications, and control. From 2002 to 2005, he was responsible for growing Citi Cards’ small business portfolios and leveraging opportunities in the Business and Professional category. In 2005, he was named to the "40 under 40" list for Crain's New York Business.
From 1998 to 2002, David was Executive Director, Strategic Internet Alliances, where he leveraged Citi's global market presence to form corporate-wide partnerships and managed a unit that assisted Citi businesses worldwide in structuring and negotiating Internet and technology agreements. He also served as Chief of Staff to Citi's Internet Operating Group, the executive body responsible for leading Citi's Internet Strategy.
David joined Citi in 1996 as Counsel to Citibank's Retail Banking Business, where he focused on the implementation of various Internet-based offerings. He also served as Senior Electronic Commerce Counsel to e-Citi, where he negotiated a broad variety of technology and Internet contracts throughout Citi’s Global Consumer Group.
From 1992 to 1996, David was Counsel to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, DC, where he concentrated on the evaluation of bank merger and acquisitions and electronic commerce matters.
David graduated from the University of Michigan in 1989 and Boston University School of Law in 1992.
