David Shapiro has been part of 3i since 2001. He focuses on software and digital media-related investments, as well as advanced medical / healthcare information technologies.
David brings to 3i over 13 years experience in both technology operations, as well as in venture capital and private equity. Within the 3i team he is involved in both early and later stage companies and currently serves as a board member for Carbonite, Crystal IS, and DAFCA, as well as ImpactRx, Swissray, Vette, and Wellpartner.
Prior to joining 3i, David was co-founder and COO of Exygy, a business focused on new applications of GPS and wireless technology. Before this, David worked for four years in the $3.5 billion private equity group at GE Asset Management, where he specialized in late stage venture and growth capital opportunities. He also held a position managing investment portfolios for the Bank of Boston and began his career in investment management at State Street Bank, with GE Asset Management as his client. David also has experience as a strategy consultant with both the Parthenon Group and with Citizen's Energy.
David received his MBA with a focus on venture capital and entrepreneurship from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BA in History from Yale University. |
