David M. Poticny is a Senior Vice President at NextWave Broadband Inc. He has over 30 years experience in Information Technology and Telecommunications and has been involved in all aspects of the industry including development, manufacturing, product management, sales, and customer support.
Mr. Poticny formed the System Solutions Company, LLC and has provided consulting services to Cingular Wireless and Telemetrics Corporation in the USA, and for wireless projects in South Africa and The Netherlands. Previously he was President of Lucent Technologies, Europe, located in London. He was responsible for annual sales of over $1B and business development in over 30 countries.
Mr. Poticny led the development of a new industry segment using Code Division (CDMA) technology in the 450Mhz frequency band and led the introduction of mobile high speed data with UMTS. As the senior Lucent executive in Europe he met with analysts and was a keynote speaker at the London Financial Times and German Handelsblatt Telecom events and other venues.
From 1991 to 2002, Mr. Poticny was an executive and officer in the Mobility product unit in Lucent Technologies. During this time he was responsible for introducing over 40 new hardware and software products and was instrumental in winning large customer contracts globally, replacing competitors’ products in over 25 markets.
From 1983 to 1991 he was responsible for a joint venture with Philips Corporation in the Netherlands, and an acquisition of Telectron Corporation in Ireland. He transferred technology from the U.S.A. and established factories in 5 countries and customer support centers in 10 countries. Prior to this he was responsible for new product introduction and customer support. He introduced major digital switching products that led to over $25B in revenue.
He has one Patent and is on the Board of Directors of the CTIA Wireless Foundation and is on the Board of Directors of a number of Corporations.
Mr. Poticny earned a BSEE degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Loyola University. |
