Mr. David Pinto has a long illustrative background in the retail industry. Mr. Pinto has been reporting on mass market retailing for over 40 years. For ten of them, he was editor of Chain Store Age Drug Edition, the leading magazine covering the chain drug industry in the 1970s. For another three, he was editor of Chain Store Age Supermarkets, a leading publication serving the supermarket industry. In 1978, Mr. Pinto co-founded CHAIN DRUG REVIEW, the first and only newspaper created specifically to report on the chain drug industry. It has become the most successful publication serving chain drug store retailing. In 1983, Racher Press, the publishing company of which Mr. Pinto is president, launched MASS MARKET RETAILERS, the first- and, to date, the only- trade publication to address exclusively the issues of cross-trade class competition. As the barriers differentiating supermarkets, chain drug stores and discount stores have continued to fade, MASS MARKET RETAILERS, with its headquarters-only circulation, has emerged as an important competitive tool for chain executives. |
