David Perkins was appointed vice president and general manager of Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector's (now Freescale Semiconductor’s) Networking & Computing Systems Group in February 2002, after serving as a corporate vice president since June 2000.
Perkins' charter is to ensure Freescale’s continued success in the wired and wireless networking arenas, while maintaining a comprehensive networking semiconductor portfolio, including processors, advanced clock drivers, RF power transistors, reconfigurable compute fabric technology and SerDes transceivers. Previously, Perkins was president and CEO of Metrowerks Corporation, which he joined in 1995. He was instrumental in developing Metrowerks' strong partnership with Motorola, paving the way for Motorola's acquisition of Metrowerks in September 1999. He holds a bachelor's degree in Commerce and a master's degree in Finance, both from McGill University in Montreal. |
