Mr. Michou began his career with Carrix in 1976 and has almost thirty-five years of experience in stevedoring and rail terminal operations. His varied experience has taken him through the U.S. West Coast ports from Anchorage to San Diego, handling all types of cargos and vessels. Prior to transferring to Carrix’s international operations group in 1993, he served as Carrix’s regional vice president for Southern California operations for eight years, Carrix’s largest regional operation. Mr. Michou has also served as general manager for two of Carrix’s largest container facilities (Pacific Container Terminal - Long Beach and Terminal 18 - Seattle). Mr. Michou has functioned as a consultant and supervisor on numerous terminal expansion projects in conjunction with local port authorities. His background includes seven years as a member of the Pacific Maritime Association Southern California Substeering Committee including a three-year term as chairman of the committee. During this period, he was also a vice president of the board of directors for the Master Contracting Stevedore Association of the Pacific Coast. Currently, as president of SSA International, Mr. Michou is responsible for Chile, Mexico, Panama and all other SSA International container projects. He also serves as vice president of the San Vicente International Terminal BOD and president of the San Antonio International Terminal BOD. He is also managing director of MIT where he was instrumental in the design, construction and set-up phases since relocating to Panama in 1994.
