After graduating from UC Davis Law School, David worked as an associate at Morrison & Foerster, specializing in corporate finance and technology transactions. In 2001, after almost five years at the firm, David left to serve as General Counsel and help turnaround one of his clients, DeRemate, the leading online auction company in Latin America.
DeRemate was sold to eBay's Latin American affiliate, Mercado Libre (Nasdaq: MELI) in 2005. David next went to serve as general counsel for Amanco, a Latin American light construction materials company which was sold in 2007. Most recently, David served as general counsel for Franz, the leading seller of dynamic, object-oriented development tools, assisting in their spinout of AllegroGraph, the leading graph database for the semantic web.
Despite that last sentence, David is actually an extremely interesting individual. He’s lived several years hanging out with lizards, sloths, and monkeys in Latin America, and once recited the California Constitution for 48 hours from the top of the Transamerica Pyramid. He can also slam dunk a basketball and assured his place in the pantheon of baseball greats when, at the age of ten, he made an unassisted triple play.
He’s also very proud of the fact that his father once beat Raul Castro at Ping Pong. |
