Dr David Ebsworth obtained a BSc in Chemistry and German with first class honours and a Ph.D. in Comparative Industrial Relations, both at the University of Surrey. From 1987 to 2001, Dr Ebsworth was involved at a senior level with various companies within the Bayer Group in both Europe and North America with responsibilities including country management, global marketing and finally the position of President and General Manager of Bayer AG in Leverkusen from January 2000 to December 2001. After this Dr. Ebsworth became Chief Executive Officer of Oxford Glycosciences. He currently acts as a non-executive director and consultant to companies in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector. He has an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from the University of New Haven and received the award of Global Citizen of the Year 2001 from Seton Hall University in New Jersey. |
